Virtual Accounting and Tax Services for Individuals

We recognize that our clients are busier than ever. Between work, family obligations, doctor’s appointments, and everyday activities around the home, free time is scarce. Taking time off from work or rescheduling appointments to allow for in-person appointments with an accountant is a luxury that many people just don’t have.

To accommodate your busy lifestyle, the Diane E. Cahill team is happy to offer virtual accounting and tax services for individuals and families. Rather than meeting once a year at tax time, virtual services allow us to build and maintain a relationship with you throughout the year and help you make the best possible financial decisions.

All accounting and tax services for individuals and families that we provide in person are also offered virtually.

Virtual Accounting and Tax Services Include:

  • Preparation of federal and state income tax returns

  • Preparation of gift tax returns if you give a gift of more than $15,000 to someone other than your spouse

  • Preparation of estate and trust tax returns

  • Tax planning, from quarterly estimated tax payments, to college and retirement savings, to making adjustments to your tax strategy based on life changes.

Advantages of Working With a Virtual Accountant

Virtual services are a time-saver. Obviously, it’s easier to pick up the phone or use a video conferencing application than get in the car, drive to our offices, and drive home. Documents and information can be securely shared via email or file-sharing applications. If you forget a document, this is much faster than delivering the document by hand or sending it through traditional mail.

Virtual accounting and tax services also allow us to “meet” with you more frequently. Ongoing communication about life changes makes it possible to plan more proactively, whether you’re changing jobs, starting a business, thinking about retiring, making a major purchase, dealing with a serious illness, or receiving an inheritance. We can make sure you minimize your tax obligation, track the right information, and maintain proper records.

To be clear, we’re happy to meet with clients in person, and you don’t have to choose between virtual and face-to-face meetings. It’s not an “either-or” proposition. You might choose, for example, to meet in person once a year and meet virtually once a quarter. We’re happy to provide that flexibility because it allows us to build strong relationships and deliver the kind of personal service you deserve from your accountant.
